Our Engagement - Niagara on the Lake, ON 5/21/10
We went to Niagara on the Lake, Ontario to celebrate our birthdays. Guy's birthday is 5/25 and mine is 5/29. Even though the following weekend was a 3 day weekend, we went early since I was training to run a marathon on 5/30/10.
Guy picked me up from work on 5/21/10 and we drove into Canada to spend our weekend at Globetrotter's Bed & Breakfast. When we arrived, we went to the Old Winery for dinner.
After dinner we headed into town, stopping at the Irish Harp Pub for a drink. Guy had a Guinness and I had a Stella - our last drinks as "single people."
We then headed down to Queen's Royal Park to walk along the water. Since it was a cool evening with rain showers off and on, we were pretty much the only ones there. We sat on the rocks and watched the few boats and talked about Old Fort Niagara, located just across the river in the US. Next thing I know, Guy asks if e should make our relationship official and he pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! The whole moment was a whirlwind and I really wish I could remember what he said. It was a complete surprise - the best surprise ever!
