I DO! (it myself) :)

This page is dedicated to my attempts to DIY my wedding for a more personal touch.  If you use any of my pictures for inspiration, please give me credit!  I am "cmalchow" on the Knot Boards.  Thanks!  Enjoy :)

Bridal Shower Napkins

Picture
Since the shower is going to be "Red, White, and Blue" theme, I am doing red and blue napkins stamped with "Stayz-on" ink in either black or white.  Just wanted to dress it up a bit.

Cocktail Hour Napkins

Picture
I also wanted cocktail napkins at the wedding that are personalized.  I made a ton of black napkins stamped with my design (it matches my invitations).  I will also stamp red and purple napkins with our monogram once I permanently decide that red and purple are my colors!

Boutonnieres

Picture
I wanted to do something other than flowers for the men.  While wandering around AC Moore one day, I found these "things."  I don't know what they are.  Guy calls them marbles.  Pay no attention to the fact that the ribbon is taped on, I still have not decided what color ribbon to use.  I may do all black ribbon, or may do some red and some purple as well.  Assuming those stay my colors!

The one below with the feather is for readers and ushers and the one with the flowers is for the women :)

Bridesmaid Hangers

Picture
I purchased 14 gauge wire for this.  Many people recommend 12 gauge, but I found that this wire holds it shape very well.  I still, obviously, have to attach them to the hangers.

Cake Topper

Picture
Here is my cake topper....it needs something, not quite sure what yet, but something.

It's my grandma and grandpa at their wedding in 1946.   LOVE.

Cake Toppers!

Picture
Here they are!  the finished cake toppers.  My grandparents are on the left and my great grandparents are on the right.  SOOOOO excited about these!

Hair Combs

Picture
Hair clips!  I took 2 rings I bought at forever 21 ($3 each) and attached to combs from Jo-anns (about $1.50 each).

Cake Server

Picture
We are using this both to cut & serve.  Beads and wire from Michaels, server from Dollar Tree.  Total - less than $2 (the wire and beads were purchased for another project)

Flower girl Pomander

Picture
This took FOREVER!  i made flowers using this tutorial (i used 4" squares and 4 petals per flower).

Here is the website

Dress Label

Picture
This is a labor of love!  it will be sewn into my dress as my "something blue."

I had stitched it - total cost - about $.25 worth of fabric.  total time - about 3 hours!

Waterbottles

Picture
I used the same pattern that I used for wrap around labels.  Printed tham at kinkos ($.60 total) and used packing tape to "waterproof" them.  They are going into OOT bags, so I didn't think they needed to be completely waterproofed.

Breath Mint Flags

Picture
I made fanc-a-fied breath mints, so I did little flags to put on the tables :)  just an extra touch!

Centerpieces!

Picture
Talk about labor of love!  i cut 60 beer bottles into candle holders, and made 60 paper flowers for centerpieces.

i am in love with this.

beer bottles cost $.05 each (since i didn't return them for the refund) and the flowers were made with card stock purchased at 5 for $0.95

Wrap around labels

Picture
designed in paintbrush, printed in Word.  I actually took them to kinko's and they print directly onto sticker paper for $.50 a page, My trusty paper-cutter did the rest!

Envelope Liners

Picture
Purple wrapping paper, glue stick - and viola!

Door Hangers for OOT bags

Picture
I ordered these (for free!) from VP.  They are rack cards, punched with a 1.5" hole punch.  This will be used as our welcome letter in OOT bags.  The front is a welcome & thank you.  The back is a "do not disturb"

Picture

OOT goodie bags

Picture
These will go into OOT bags.  They have mints & smarties in them.  Notice the mints are prettied up with scrapbook paper.  These will go in centerpieces, with the cocktail flags pictured above.

Cocktail Flags

Picture
We are giving beer pints as favors.  Since we want people to use them again, they have a pub logo on them, here is our personalization that will go into each on the tables.

Wedding party cards

Picture
I wanted something different, unexpected...my BM loved them!  and they all said "yes!"
